John Flaschner, Williamsville EAST High School,Class of 1980

John (“Flash”) Flaschner is vice president of Tournament Business Affairs Community Impact at the PGA TOUR. He is responsible for spearheading national charitable and community outreach initiatives including the TOUR’s military, volunteer, collegiate, women’s and family programs. Among his many responsibilities, John oversees PGA TOUR Charities, Inc.’s Birdies for the Brave,a national military outreach initiative that raises funds for ten military charities and conducts military appreciation activities during more than 80 tournaments annually on the PGA TOUR.

Prior to joining the TOUR in 2005, John served as executive director of the American Golf Foundation and was previously the national marketing and public relations director for American Golf Corporation. He joined the golf industry after a successful hotel management career.  Among his many professional and philanthropic affiliations, John is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Golf Foundation; the HEAL Foundation (Helping Enrich Autistic Lives); and the Jordan and Kyra Memorial Foundation,a non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.  He is also a long-time supporter of Big Brothers of America, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and K9s for Warriors and Give Kids the World, an organization that supports children with critical illnesses and their families.  

John received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Ithaca College and was honored with the Campus Life Award as a senior. He lives with his wife, Sandy, and son, Robert, in Atlantic Beach, Florida.
