Leonard M. Castrianno (‘89) (deceased)—Leonard Castrianno worked as a junior stockbroker for Cantor Fitzgerald, located on the 105th floor in the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Castrianno, along with more than 600 of his co-workers and thousands of others, was killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

While he was a student at Williamsville East High School, Castrianno was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and was involved in the 1987 National Association of Student Councils Conference held at East. His interests included electronics, golfing, skiing, cross-country, and music. He also participated in the Amherst Youth Engaged in Service program, doing volunteer service work throughout his community.

After high school, Leonard attended Buffalo State College and Erie Community College, earning degrees in business finance and computer/electronic technology engineering. He held numerous jobs before taking the position in New York, including real estate and software sales. Family and friends remember Leonard fondly for his friendly, caring nature and for being a hard-working, well-rounded individual who brightened the lives of everyone he knew and encountered.
