President of Cortese Brothers Construction located in Depew, NY, Domenic heads the company founded by his father and uncle 60 years ago. Cortese Brothers Construction, which specializes in residential renovations, additions, kitchens and baths as well as handyman services, won design awards in 1997 for the best kitchen and bath in the United States by Better Homes and Garden Magazine. It was the first time in the magazine’s history that a kitchen and a bath in the same house both won first place.
Domenic is also known for his weekly radio call-in show on WBEN-AM 930, The Home Improvement Hour, which first went on the air in 1989 and can be heard on Saturday mornings. Active in the community, Domenic has served as president of the Clarence Rotary Club, and was named Clarence Rotarian of the Year for 2007. Together with his wife, Diane, and their three children - Philip, Nicholas, and Michelle - the Cortese family was honored as the Rotary Family of the Year in 2001, and in 2010, they received the same honor from the regional branch of the National Conference of Just Communities. The Clarence Chamber of Commerce named Domenic and Diane Citizens of the Year in 2003.
A board member for the Brothers of Mercy Foundation, Domenic is active in his parish, Our Lady of Peace, where he has served as Parish Council President. In 2009, he was a project manager on the highly publicized Extreme Home Makeover that took place in Buffalo.
Domenic received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Relations from Canisius College, where he is a past-president of the Alumni Association. He also completed the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Program at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
