Richard D. Lewis (1977) – Rick Lewis is the president and CEO of White Directory Publishers, Inc., one of the most successful independent yellow pages companies in the nation and home to the Talking Phone Book. One of Western New York’s largest privately held companies, the White Directory employs 650 people, publishes 37 directories in five states and has annual revenues approaching $100 million.
Lewis stands at the top of the yellow page industry in the United States and has served in leadership positions within the industry including chairman of the board of the Association of Directory Publishers (ADP) and board member of the Yellow Page Publishers Association. He led an industry effort that resulted in federal legislation contained in the Federal Telecommunications Policy Act of 1996, opening the yellow page industry to competition. Directory World Magazine named Lewis one of the 25 most influential people in the industry and he received the ADP’s Lifetime Outstanding Service Award at the youthful age of 36.
In addition to his professional achievements, Lewis is actively involved in local charitable and philanthropic activities, serving on the board of directors of the United Cerebral Palsy Association and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He maintains strong ties to Williamsville North and helped organize the high school’s 25th anniversary celebration in 1993.
