Wendie Malick ('68) is an award-winning actress currently starring on the NBC comedy, "Just Shoot Me". In 1999, she was nominated for both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe for best supporting actress in a comedy series for her portrayal of Nina Van Horn, a ditsy ex-model. Malick also has won four CableACE Awards for her performances on the HBO comedy series "Dream On".

After graduating from South, Malick studied fine arts and theater at Ohio Wesleyan University, which selected her as one of its 24 Sesquicentennial Alumni as part of its 150th anniversary in 1992. She served as a staff aide to Congressman Jack Kemp in Washington, DC before becoming a model, working in Europe and Asia during the 1970's. She then turned to her first love - acting - and to date has over 30 films and dozens of television roles to her credit. Most recently, she starred in the motion picture "Manna From Heaven", a comedic fable produced locally and set to be released nationally.

Off screen, Malick and her husband Richard Erickson spend time building houses for the poor in Tijuana, Mexico and the Eastern Congo in Africa. They also support a small hospital in Africa and are now involved in building an orphanage in Tijuana. In June 2000, Malick was honored for her humanitarian work at the "Women of Vision Awards Gala" in Washington, DC.
