Todd Marchant (‘91)—Todd Marchant is a professional hockey player who has played ten seasons in the National Hockey League with the Edmonton Oilers and now is signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets. After graduating from East High School, Marchant attended Clarkson University on a full athletic scholarship, leaving after two years to join the United States Olympic Hockey Team that competed in the 1994 Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway.

Marchant signed with the New York Rangers in 1993, but was traded to the Oilers early in his first NHL season. Today, he ranks tenth all-time in most goals scored for the Oilers, tenth all-time assists, and eleventh all-time scoring for the Edmonton organization. For the past five years, Marchant has operated a summer hockey school at the Amherst Pepsi Center, donating a portion of the proceeds from the school to local charities, totaling $30,000 to date. In Edmonton, he participated in several notable charity efforts, lending his celebrity sports status to chair events for the S.P.C.A. and the Christmas Bureau Charity Fundraising Drive, and taking part in activities for the Alberta Literacy Awareness Program and the Edmonton Children’s Stollery Center (hospital).
