Torey Hirsch, Class of 1975

Torey Hirsch co-founded the Greater Buffalo Gymnastic Center, Inc. in 1993.  As president, he expanded the facility in 2006 creating the only complex in New York State to offer gymnastics, dance, fitness, and a pre-school/childcare center. The combined businesses currently service over 1,000 clients each week and have created a lasting, positive influence on the health and fitness of families in our community.

An accomplished gymnast, Torey was captain of the gymnastic team in his junior and senior years at North, and was New York State Champion on the vault his senior year. He later served as the head gymnastics coach for North as well as the combined North-South-East high school boys’ team from 1985 to 1997. He was head coach of the North High girls’ gymnastics team from 2005-2007 and is currently president of the Niagara Frontier Men’s Gymnastic Officials Association. An antique car buff, he is a member of the Rolls Royce Owners Club and the Antique Automobile Association.  Together with his son, TJ, Torey expanded the gymnastic center campus in 2009 to accommodate the first museum-quality facility for exotic, collector, and antique vehicles.

In 2007, Torey and his family established The Jacquie Hirsch for A.L.L. Foundation, after his daughter was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. Since Jacquie’s passing in September 2008, the Foundation’s mission has evolved into raising awareness about leukemia, cancer and bone marrow transplants as well as funding cancer research projects and providing support to cancer patients and their families. Torey currently serves as executive vice president of the Foundation.

Torey graduated from Ohio State University in 1980 with a degree in Psychology and Business. He also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
